Boston Government Services, LLC. (BGS) is seeking an Architectural Engineer to support our nuclear solutions mission at the Y12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

The Y-12 National Security Complex has three primary national security missions that protect our country and our allies around the world. Maintaining the U.S .nuclear stockpile, reducing global threats, and fueling the U.S. Nuclear Navy are key activities at this historic site.

As the Architectural Engineer you’ll perform field work, taking measurements, providing floor plans and equipment layouts, performing code checks for egress or other issues, providing their own CAD drawings, specifying paint and finishes, detailing windows and flashing, roofing, doors and hardware, security features, building cladding and project coordination.

Other duties include:

  • Work as part of a multi-discipline team, sometimes taking the lead for layouts and design flow.
  • Provide labor estimates, bills of materials, or project planning efforts.
  • Report to the mission manager in charge of multiple projects, so work will be variable and could have several assignments concurrently.
  • Successfully be able to milestone project schedule commitment dates and budgets while providing quality documents.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering or civil engineering.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of experience with architectural engineering project work with an emphasis on industrial design and building maintenance.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening exam.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain eligibility for a security clearance or access badge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • Onsite at the Y12 National Security Complex, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
  • Schedule is full-time, Monday – Thursday 40-hour week.
