READ BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING JOB DESCRIPTIONS (PCA & Homemaking) BEFORE APPLYING PCA: Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Department: Personal Care Assistant Reports To: Supervisory RN, Staffing Coordinator, & HR Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Brief Description of Job Duties: The PCA will perform Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living for individuals in their homes. These include dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, transfers, mobility, positioning, toileting, light housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, range of motion, equipment maintenance, and accompanying clients to medical appointments, based on the care plan. Duties not specified on the care plan are prohibited. Maintaining accurate documentation of care and health status changes is required. PCA duties align with Personal Support Worker and Respite Worker responsibilities. Qualifications: Ability to work independently and make judgments; Dependability, tact, and following orders; Free from dependency on mood-altering substances; Alignment with AHH's core values; No open service agreements with the Department of Human Services. Language Ability: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and staff, and to report health changes appropriately. Math Ability: Ability to perform basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume, and distance measurements. Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense and handle standard instructions and problems involving concrete variables. Physical Demands: Regular use of hands, talking/hearing; frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; occasional sitting; ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to outdoor weather and moderate noise levels. All PCA applicants are subject to criminal background checks through DHS. Disqualifications include certain convictions or maltreatment, unless rehabilitation is verified. Applicants cannot start until background checks are completed and qualifications confirmed. Mandated Reporter: This is a mandated reporter position. Reporting suspected abuse or neglect is required. Training: Must complete DHS-approved training and AHH-specific training before providing services. Provide proof of training completion and enroll with DHS as a PCA once qualified. Homemaker: Job Title: Homemaker Department: Homemaker Reports To: Supervisory RN, Staffing Coordinator, & HR Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Brief Description of Job Duties: Perform homemaking tasks such as meal prep, shopping, errands, household care, transportation planning, companionship, emotional support, social activities, and safety monitoring. Not responsible for ADLs or transporting clients in vehicles. Duties based on care plan, with documentation of services and health status updates. Qualifications: Ability to work independently and judge appropriately; Dependability, tact, and following instructions; Free from dependency on mood-altering substances; Align with AHH's core values. Language Ability: Read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and staff, and report health changes appropriately.
