Job Description
A counseling intern at our Acute Care Campus (ACC) will have the opportunity to observe and learn from AllHealth Network counselors in an inpatient setting. The ACC intern will receive full spectrum exposure to working with adults in crisis. The ACC Counseling Intern may be located at the AllHealth Network Acute Treatment Unit (ATU) or CSU (Crisis Stabilization Unit) in Littleton.
The ACC Counseling Intern will gain experience working with clients requiring a higher level of care due to their symptoms. The intern should be interested in crisis counseling, be open to working with clients experiencing acute psychosis, grief, trauma symptoms, personality disorders, mania, depression, and co-occurring substance use, IDD or TBI symptoms. This is a high-acuity environment, staff will need to follow all agency policies and procedures, and be very adaptable.
Under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), the intern will support the ACC team by providing 1:1, group, and discharge/family reintegration sessions with clients. The intern will also complete comprehensive assessments, clinical screeners, and care planning. The intern may be provided opportunities to shadow and engage in case reviews. As with all internships, the intern will receive supervision from a licensed clinician on a weekly basis.
- Interns must be affiliated with a CACREP accredited academic program during their placement with AllHealth Network. The school or its representative and AllHealth Network must have an established Affiliation Agreement, in writing, in place regarding the terms of an intern's placement prior to the start of an internship.
- AllHealth Network employees are not eligible for internships while employed by the organization.
- All internships are unpaid.
- AllHealth Network does not employ or provide internships to current or former clients or those who have family members in treatment to avoid confidentiality concerns or conflicts of interest.
- Interns may not practice in any language other than English unless they have passed the Human Resources approved proficiency examination.
- Those offered internship positions are required to complete the background check process and other onboarding requirements, as outlined by Human Resources.
- Interns are expected to attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) as well as other required new hire and internship trainings and to complete all mandatory agency wide staff training requirements. Interns are also expected to give constructive feedback that evaluates their training and supervision experience and to be engaged in the learning process.
- Interns are expected to participate in the development of a performance improvement plan if one is needed.
- Interns are expected to keep track of their hours as they accrue, per the requirements of their academic program.
- AllHealth interns are encouraged to participate in all intern group meetings, trainings (both online and live), and presentations.
- Video and audio taping of sessions is not permitted . Interns in academic programs that require video and/or audio recording should apply elsewhere.
Titles and Hours Required:
- Two intern placements are available with the following schedule:
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday - AM

- Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays - AM
- Preferred if candidates are interested in practicum, internship one and internship two consecutively.
- Practicum placements have a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Internship one and two have minimum of 16-20 hours per week is required, along with a 9-12 month commitment. The internship typically follows the academic year and begins in the Winter/Spring 2025 semester.

Minimum Qualifications and # of Openings:
- 1st or 2nd Year Masters (MA or MS) in Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- 1-2 intern positions available
Student Supervisor's Credential:
- LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor)
