Accounting Assistant Position
We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our team in Gonzales, California. Responsibilities:
- Process daily deposits with precision and ensure timely completion.
- Post and reconcile journal entries in compliance with established accounting standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed spreadsheets to track accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Investigate and address discrepancies in accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
- Support administrative duties and general accounting responsibilities as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance processes and maintain financial integrity.
- Provide assistance in handling accounts payable duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable and general accounting functions.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets, particularly Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliations, coding invoices, and journal entries.
- Experience in a school district or public sector environment is preferred but not required.
